About Jawai:
Located near Sumerpur town in Pali District of Rajasthan, Jawai is all known for its largest dam reservoir which is an important source of water for Jodhpur and nearby villages. Jawai is a beautiful place that offers myriads of opportunity to spot leopards, birds, crocodiles, and other wildlife species. The Jawai River on which the dam is situated is a tributary to the Luni River and offers several chances to spot varied bird species migrating over the river side. The village settlement around the dam is inhabited by the people of the Rabari tribe in Rajasthan. Visitors can interact with the locals and get a closer glimpse of tribal culture, traditional customs, lifestyle, and livestock living.
